We will keep Vigil!"Anyone coming to see "Vigil" at the Wards Island Playhouse can enjoy a ride aboard the ferry reserved for islanders and their guests. Either the Shipsands or the Kim Simpson will be waiting for you at the foot of York street, behind the Second Cup. The ferry leaves for Ward's Island at 6:00 PM, 6:30 PM and 7:15 PM. (We will delay the opening curtain 15 minutes to ensure anyone catching the 7:15 will arrive in plenty of time). Once you get to Ward's Island, the Playhouse is the big blue building straight ahead of you, about 300 metres.
For 2:00 PM Matinees the ferry leaves York and Queens Quay at 1:15 PM. The cost is the same as the regular ferry- $6.50, exact change required. When the show is over, the ferry will carry you back to the city no charge. In the unlikely event that this ferry is full, The Queen City Yacht Club ferry (the Algonquin Queen) which leaves from the same docks will also take passengers for the same rate departing at 6:15 and 7:15. In the unlikely event that both of these boats are full, water taxis leave the same docks which cost $8 per person. |
